Lebanon, located in the heart of the eastern Mediterranean, is known for its rich history, stunning natural beauty, and vibrant culture. Often referred to as the "Paris of the Middle East," Lebanon is home to stunning beaches, towering mountain ranges, and ancient ruins.

This topic deserves it’s very own section since as you all know Deniz & Sarah fell in love over a common passion- their love for food!

Here are some of the restaurants, cafes & bars they absolutely love in Lebanon.
We will keep updating this as the date nears!

LEBANESE OPTIONS:

  • Em Sharif- Hands down THE best Lebanese food - We recommend either Em Sharif Sea Cafe for delicious fish and Em Sharif On The Roof for their summer Edition.

  • Liza Beirut- Reimagined traditional Lebanese dishes, the restaurant is nestled in a beautiful 19th-century palace.

  • Abou Joseph - Deniz’s absolute favourite! Pass by and grab the shawarma of your dreams. Take 1 meat, 1 chicken you won’t regret it!

  • Al Falamanki - We recommend having a Lebanese breakfast/brunch here overlooking the famous Raouche Pigeon Rocks.

  • Tawlet Mar Mikhael - Authentic regional Lebanese cuisine made by visiting cooks from all over Lebanon.

  • The Lebanese Bakery - A neighbourhood bakery serving a delicious variety of Lebanese Manousheh’s - Try their “ZAATAR ZAATAR” !

INTERNATIONAL OPTIONS:

  • Baron -From Mediterranean to Middle Eastern with hints of Asia, the menu is eclectic and sharing is encouraged - Take their charred cauliflower!

  • Terre- A Farm to Table concept with seasonal menu’s and locally sourced products.. must we say more?

  • Peck - Food for the soul, happy vibes and great cocktails in the heart of Gemayzeh - Say Hello to our friend Andy the Chef !

  • Mayrig - Great Armenian food !

  • Albergo hotel - Sarah’s favourite rooftop - this place is ridiculously pretty. Sit on their rooftop for dinner or head to their “Swim Club” for some drinks and bites!

  • Marinella - Nice Italian restaurant in Mar Mikhael - Great for lunch !

  • Beit Kanz - For a lovely authentic Lebanese breakfast in a beautiful old Lebanese house in the middle of Beirut.

  • Ixsir by Montagnou - [A MUST] An ultimate experience of Lebanese & French cuisine in one of the finest Lebanese wineries! The scenery is breathtaking!

  • Clap - Japanese fine dining on a rooftop!

BARS

The main areas to grab a drink in Beirut are: Gemayzeh, Mar Mikhael & Badaro, you can find many different ones along side each other on those streets.

  • House of butlers - For consistently great cocktails and hangovers that are worth it!

  • Union Marks - very cool bar set in a garden area in the middle of the city

  • Dead End Paradise - Funky vibes, good music, cocktails and bites ! ( Also was N80 @50bestbars 2022)

  • Bolero - In Batroun by the sea, great for sunset drinks (outside of Beirut) -Recommended !

  • Kissproof - A bar in Badaro where you can grab a drink and bites.

  • Capitole By Analogue - restaurant-bar in Beirut known for its lively style in food, drink, and music.

Cafes/Brunch spots

  • Kalei- Relaxing spot in Mar Mikhael to grab a coffee or have some breakfast - sit outside under the trees for a little city escape

  • BEYt Cafe - Café, garden, and a cultural space in an old lebanese house & at the heart of Mar Mikhael!

  • The Slow - Cafe & concept store - World’s best cafes and concept stores @condenasttraveller

  • Sip - Grab your coffee while strolling the streets of Gemayzeh

  • Casablanca- Set in a traditional Lebanese house on Beirut’s corniche ! Nice for brunch or dinner.

  • The Sage Parlour - An all day breakfast/coffee shop in a wellness studio - You can grab bite to eat, join a pilates or yoga class or both!

How to Get Around

Transportation options in Lebanon

Lebanon has only one airport: Rafik Hariri International Airport. The airport is a quick 15 minute drive to the city (depending on where you are staying). The easiest way to arrange your pick up from the airport is to WhatsApp our wedding week call center on +961 81 536 559 mentioning Sarah & Deniz wedding and your arrival information, and they will arrange the transportation for you depending on your preferences.

Alternatively, you can whatsapp either Allo Taxi or White Taxi in advance with your flight details and name, and they will pick you up at arrivals with a sign with your name. You can generally pay in USD for this ride (10$-15$). Make sure to have some cash dollars on you when you arrive.

Travel from the Airport:

It might be tricky hailing a cab in Lebanon and the best way to get access to a taxi is through WhatsApping or calling one of these taxi companies. You can share your location and they will pick you up. Tell them you are calling for “Sarah & Deniz Wedding” and they’ll take care of you!

If you are a big group and want to arrange day trips around Lebanon together. Both White Taxi and Allo Taxi can help you book a van/large car to take you around or contact our call center to do it for you as well.

RENT A CAR

You can also rent a car and discover the city yourself. You can use following companies to rent your vehicle. Just keep in mind that traffic in Lebanon could be hectic :) So drive with caution!
