FAQs

Lebanon has gone through some radical and extremely unfortunate changes in the past few years. So Lebanese economy is currently predominantly cash based.
Therefore, please make sure to bring cash U.S dollars as most establishments accept U.S dollars as a payment method. Also, all hotels and some retail stores will also accept international credit cards so you can just ask before.
If however, you need to exchange U.S dollars to LBP, please see the next section.
-
Please do NOT exchange money at the airport upon arrival or pull out money from the bank ATMs as you will be exchanging it at the official bank rate and losing value.
To exchange money from USD to LBP if needed, please ask your hotel where the closest exchange office is. They will exchange the cash for you at the daily rate, a.k.a the “black market rate”.

You do not need to apply for a visa to Lebanon, you will get a stamp on arrival. You will be asked for your purpose of visit and address so just say you are coming for a wedding and have your accommodation address ready.
